Snowstorm in the Balkans: Thousands left without electricity.
According to The Sun: A strong snowstorm has left thousands of people without electricity in Europe, where extreme weather conditions are being observed once again.
Heavy snowfall has ruthlessly hit the mountainous regions of the Balkans, causing trees and power lines to fall.
APTourists visiting the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo, were struck by the freezing temperatures.
One visitor, Sandra Majstorovic, told The Independent:
“We came in flip-flops and now we need boots and jackets.”
Extreme weather conditions have also affected Serbia, where a state of emergency has been declared in some regions.
The snowfall has led to power outages in both countries, leaving thousands without electricity.
This anomalous weather is being observed against the backdrop of a week of drastic climate changes in Europe.
Greece, Spain, Italy, and Bulgaria have experienced rains that turned roads into rivers, causing significant damage on the resort island of Ibiza.

In southern Serbia, up to 20 inches of snow has fallen. Meteorologist Slobodan Sovil from the meteorological service mentioned that the snowfall could reach record levels for October.
Drivers in Bosnia have been warned to be particularly careful, and it was also recommended to change tires to winter ones a month before they are mandatory.
In Serbia, several municipalities have declared a state of emergency due to the ongoing snowfall.
Aleksandar Mitrovic, the head of the municipality of Ivanjica in central Serbia, noted:
“We have several areas without electricity due to fallen trees and branches that have fallen on power lines.”
The municipalities of Medvedja and Crna Trava have also been left without drinking water and telephone communication.
While residents of the Balkans may be accustomed to colder conditions, the premature onset of winter stands in stark contrast to the warm weather they experienced just a few weeks ago.
In September, the region experienced temperatures of up to 30 degrees Celsius, ten degrees lower than the 40 that became the norm during summer heatwaves.
This rapid climate shift has been a surprise for many regions.
Villages across Serbia and Bosnia have experienced power supply disruptions due to wet snow, with many roads and mountain passes closed to the public.
Additionally, the national railway company has reported significant delays and cancellations of trains due to damage caused to power lines.
But residents of the Balkans are not alone in their weather troubles.
