February 22nd Attack on Kyiv

According to Novyny.live: A family from Sofiyivska Borshchahivka survived a missile barrage on February 22nd that damaged their home and left them without government aid. The assault injured at least 17 people, including three adults and four children. This attack is part of a wider pattern of strikes targeting the Kyiv region, which have intensified in recent months.

The bombardment involved ballistic, anti-ship, and cruise missiles, as well as drones. Vitaliy, one of the victims, noted that

'Not even the emergency gas service came here on February 22nd, even though shrapnel pierced a gas pipe.'
This highlights the family's complete lack of immediate assistance following the strike.

With no official support, the family is undertaking repairs themselves. As Vitaliy explains,

'We've submitted applications everywhere: to the village council and to the government's 'Diia' portal. If it weren't for my acquaintances and friends, we wouldn't be able to live here.'
The absence of state aid is deeply troubling, as such attacks leave victims homeless and without the resources to rebuild their lives.

An Urgent Need for Assistance

The situation in Sofiyivska Borshchahivka and other affected areas remains critical, with residents in desperate need of urgent help for recovery. The ongoing aggression against the Kyiv region continues to jeopardize the safety of its inhabitants.

The failure of authorities to provide adequate aid in such crises threatens not only the material recovery of victims but also their psychological well-being. It is crucial for state institutions to respond swiftly to residents' needs and ensure necessary support in the aftermath of these tragic events.
