Massive Strikes on Odesa

According to Novyny.live: In June, the city of Odesa endured two large-scale assaults separated by exactly two years, each leaving behind casualties and extensive damage. The first occurred on June 10, 2023, when missiles and drones targeted the city, killing three people and wounding 26 others. Residential buildings, schools, and kindergartens were hit, causing severe disruption for local residents.

The second assault took place on June 10, 2025, when Odesa was again struck by a wave of attack drones. This time, two people were killed and nine were injured. Among the most significant destruction from this attack were:

  • the complete destruction of an administrative building housing an emergency medical station;
  • partial damage to a maternity hospital;
  • the death of one animal following a strike on the Odesa Zoo.

These incidents highlight the ongoing severity of the security situation in the region and the challenges faced by Odesa’s residents. Both events remain etched in the memory of locals and demand continued attention from national authorities and the international community. They underscore the urgent need to strengthen civilian protection amid rising terrorist threats, as well as the critical role of international aid in rebuilding infrastructure and supporting affected communities.

Ultimately, the situation in Odesa forms a key part of the broader security landscape in Ukraine, requiring sustained focus from the global community.
