Odesa Region Border Crossings Halted as Palanka and Tudora Customs Posts Close.
Traffic Suspension in Odesa Region
According to Novyny.live: All traffic through the Palanka and Tudora customs posts in the Odesa region has been completely suspended since 03:00 on February 18. This restriction applies to all categories of road users. The closure of these key border checkpoints has impacted major transport corridors, including the Odesa-Reni highway, where traffic restrictions are now in effect from kilometer marker 11+920 to 308+000.
Border Crossing Points Where Movement is Prohibited
Movement to and from the following crossing points is now prohibited:
- Palanka — Mayaky — Udobne
- Tudora — Starokozache
- Giurgiulești — Reni
- Myrne — Tabaky
- Vulcănești — Vynohradivka
- Ceadîr-Lunga — Novi Troyany
Authorities state this decision was made to ensure road safety in the region and to optimize the operations of customs structures.
As of February 18, despite the closure of these customs posts, no significant traffic complications have been observed on other state highways of national importance. This closure occurs amid heightened regional security concerns, which often necessitate adjustments to border management. Drivers and carriers are advised to account for these restrictions when planning their routes to avoid potential delays.
The shutdown of customs posts in Odesa region could significantly impact regional logistics and freight transportation. However, the lack of complications on other road sections suggests transport services are adapting to the new conditions, which helps mitigate negative consequences for overall traffic flow. It remains crucial for drivers to stay informed of these changes and factor them into their travel plans.
