Sanctions against Russia begin to impact its economy, and this is already noticeable for Russia's partner countries. This year, Russians may witness a shortage of basic products, especially in the food sector.
An economist pointed out that despite loud claims about sanctions, their effectiveness may significantly diminish due to warnings that allow Russia to prepare.
Eduard Karazhiya, an economist, shared this opinion in an exclusive interview with Novyny.LIVE. He also provided examples of how Russia circumvents sanctions by collaborating with other countries, but he is confident that even such actions would not spare Moscow from the consequences.
Expert forecasts
According to the expert, this year Russians may witness hunger due to the shortage of various products that were previously imported. The consequences of sanctions are already felt, and in the future, the food situation in Russia may worsen.
I expect that there will be hunger among Russians this year. Bread will be available, but of poor quality. Meat, vegetables, potatoes - all of this will become scarce, as they do not have their own seeds; most have always purchased them abroad.
