Prosecutor General's Office raises the alarm: number of criminal cases on domestic violence increased by 80%.
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported a significant increase in cases of domestic violence in the country. In the last year, the number of such cases has increased by almost 80%.
According to the data from the Prosecutor General's Office, 8125 criminal offenses related to domestic violence have been registered. The number of victims exceeds 5000 people. The vast majority of victims are women and children.
This phenomenon should not be silenced. Do not be afraid to speak out about it.
Shurkhno also noted that the increase in registered cases may be related to the fact that people have started to contact law enforcement agencies more frequently about this issue and have felt support from the state.
Law enforcement officers urge citizens not to remain silent about the problem of domestic violence and to seek help. This is an important step in combating this negative phenomenon and protecting the victims.
The increase in the number of registered cases of domestic violence highlights the importance of continuing to work on this issue and the need to strengthen measures to prevent and counter it.
