Three Districts Left Without Power After Strikes on Substations: Zelenskyy Announces Crimea Operation.
Crimea Operation: Goals and Early Outcomes
According to Espreso.tv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the launch of a military operation in Crimea, aimed at slowing the militarization of the occupied peninsula and securing control over its fuel and energy infrastructure. The operation, which began some time ago, has already yielded tangible results.
In the early hours of July 5, Ukrainian defense forces struck two electrical substations in occupied Crimea. The attacks left the towns of Saky, Yevpatoria, and parts of the Bakhchysarai district without power. This demonstrates the operation's effectiveness and Ukraine's growing ability to influence events on the peninsula.
“We have been slowing down the militarization of our peninsula occupied by Russia.”

Zelenskyy underscored the significance of these actions, stating: “We have shown what it means to operationally control the sky over a specific point at a specific time.” He added that “Russian business has begun to understand they will not win this war.” These remarks highlight Ukraine’s strategic approach to Crimea and its determination to maintain leverage over the region.
Escalation of Military Operations
This operation underscores an intensification of Ukraine’s military efforts in the ongoing conflict with Russia. Successful strikes on critical infrastructure, such as power substations, can significantly hinder the occupying forces' ability to sustain their presence in the region.
Ukraine’s actions also serve as a clear signal of its intent to actively pursue the restoration of control over its territories, including Crimea.
