Russia intensifies pressure in the Kupiansk direction: how the Armed Forces of Ukraine control the situation on the Oskil.
According to ТСН: In the territory of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region, Russian troops have become more active on the eastern bank of the Oskil River, trying to push out the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but have not achieved significant success.
The head of the communication department of the Joint Forces Group, Viktor Trehubov, noted that near Kupiansk, the Oskil River is not a critical factor, as Ukrainian troops control both banks and the city itself.
Situation in the north of Kupiansk
To the north of Kupiansk, the situation is different: the river plays an important role in combat operations, as Russian units are actively transferring their forces and trying to cross the Oskil using ice.
“Unfortunately, sometimes they succeed”
, he added, emphasizing that Ukrainian defenders control the situation.
Rates of military advancement
The rate of advancement of Russian troops in Ukraine has noticeably decreased, averaging about 7 square kilometers per day. Executive Director of the Ukrainian Security and Cooperation Center, Dmytro Zhmailo, states that the enemy is forced to accumulate reserves as the rate of losses exceeds replenishment rates, despite mobilizing over 400,000 contract soldiers.
Russian troops have suffered particularly large losses in the Zaporizhzhia direction, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine have destroyed about 10,000 occupiers. The situation in Hulyaipole remains a “gray” zone, despite Kremlin claims of control over the city.
Thus, although enemy activity in the Kupiansk direction does not diminish, Ukrainian forces continue to maintain control over key positions. The challenges faced by Russian troops include significant losses, indicating a difficult situation on the front. Ukrainian forces, in turn, demonstrate resilience and readiness for defense, reflecting their professionalism.
