New Train Schedule Takes Effect in Occupied Crimea Starting June 10.
Revised Railway Operations for Crimea
According to Espreso.tv: A fresh timetable for passenger rail services in occupied Crimea will go into effect at midnight on June 10, 2026. The decision, made by the region's operational headquarters, outlines the deployment of 48 suburban train pairs and 14 long-distance train pairs across 20 routes.
Under the updated plan, eight suburban train pairs will run during daylight hours from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, while six pairs are scheduled to arrive at the 'Kerch-South' railway station overnight. Additionally, the schedules of 72 electric trains have been adjusted. Starting June 11, further changes are planned for the following services:
- Train No. 6743 Dzhankoy – Feodosia
- Train No. 6929 Simferopol – Sevastopol
It is worth noting that on June 8, a Russian transportation company announced a temporary halt to passenger train operations following a drone attack. Throughout the night and morning of that same day, Crimea and Sevastopol were targeted by unmanned aerial vehicles. Furthermore, on June 7, Ukrainian defense forces struck occupier infrastructure, damaging the Chongar Bridge and the Zuivska Thermal Power Plant.
Adapting to Shifting Security Conditions
This revised railway schedule in Crimea comes amid evolving security dynamics in the region.
The introduction of the new rail traffic scheme in Crimea reflects the infrastructure's adaptation to changing security conditions arising from the armed conflict.
As Russia continues its control over the peninsula, recent events point to rising tensions that could impact transportation infrastructure and travel safety. Given the latest attacks, it is crucial to monitor further changes in rail connectivity and related security measures.
