In Wrexham, Jay Rodriguez's salary without playing: £500,000 until the winter transfer window.
Jay Rodriguez's total income in Wrexham
According to The Sun: Former Premier League star Jay Rodriguez is said to be earning around £500,000 in 'Wrexham' until he returns to the field.
Not long ago, the promoted Welsh team announced its squad of 24 players for the Championship.
However, Rodriguez did not make the squad. Along with him, several other players, including Andy Cannon, Ollie Rathbone, and Danny Ward, were left out.
These players will not be able to play in the Championship until 2026, as the registration list will remain unchanged until January.
Despite not playing, Rodriguez will be receiving a significant salary. The 36-year-old forward is reportedly earning £25,000 per week in 'Wrexham', so in total, he could earn around £500,000 by the time he gets to play.
Possible changes to the squad
'Wrexham' can still add one more player to their Championship squad, although manager Phil Parkinson is likely to give this opportunity to Ollie Rathbone.
“We need Ollie, he is a key player for us. He played an important role last year.”
“He has played at this level, and when he signed with us, he was determined to return to the Championship…”
“His energy and quality, I can't wait for Ollie to get back on the field with us.”
Rodriguez, who has one cap for the England national team, joined 'Wrexham' from 'Burnley' in January, signing an 18-month contract.
However, the forward has yet to prove himself in the new team, scoring only two goals in 18 matches.
At the moment, 'Wrexham' is in 15th place in the Championship table, having seven points after six games played.
Rodriguez hopes to prove his worth to the team soon, while 'Wrexham' aims to improve their position in the Championship. The club has important matches ahead that could be crucial for their campaign. Fans expect players, including Ollie Rathbone, to showcase their best qualities very soon. Read also
