Gas Network Fees 2026: In these three cases, the payment obligation is waived.
When you do not have to pay network fees for gas in 2026
According to Novyny.live: For the distribution of natural gas in Ukraine, fees generally apply in 2026 – even if the apartment is not used. The company 'Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine' (TOV 'Gazorozpodilni merezhi Ukrayiny') has now published exceptions under which this payment obligation is waived.
The fee for gas transportation is usually incurred as soon as a house is connected to the network, regardless of a temporary absence of the residents. However, in the upcoming year 2026, the network fee does not have to be paid in three specific situations:
- if the apartment was destroyed or damaged by shelling;
- in case of emergencies caused by hostilities;
- in the event of a mechanical disconnection of the apartment from the network.
Affected consumers can contact the company's customer service for clarification of their situation. The company specifically points out this service:
'Do you have questions? Contact our customer centers or call the hotline 0 800 303 104.'
It is also clarified that open invoices do not simply 'disappear' or become 'frozen'. Consumers should therefore inform themselves precisely about their rights and obligations to know when they are exempt from paying the network fees. These regulations are of great practical importance, especially in light of the current situation.
Why this information is crucial for consumers
The stated exceptions are vital for many Ukrainian households, especially at a time when people must leave their homes or they are damaged. Knowledge of these regulations can help avoid financial burdens in difficult situations. The company's emphasis on direct contact underscores its intention to respond flexibly to the challenges of the war situation and to provide current information.
