The Nobel Committee Rejected Machado's Request to Transfer the Peace Prize to Trump

According to ТСН: After the ousting of Nicolás Maduro's regime, key figure of the Venezuelan opposition María Corina Machado announced her intention to transfer her Nobel Peace Prize to American President Donald Trump. However, the award organizers stated that this is impossible.

The Nobel Institute rejected this proposal, emphasizing that the award "cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred." The official statement noted:

"The facts are clear and well-established. Once the Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, divided, or transferred to other individuals. The decision is final and is effective forever. No lawsuit can be filed against the decision of the prize awarding committee in Stockholm or Oslo."

The institute also added that there is no mention of the possibility of revoking the prize in Alfred Nobel's will or in the statutes of the Nobel Foundation. They assured that no committee has ever considered such matters.

"In principle, the Norwegian Nobel Committee never comments on what the laureates of the peace prize say or do after they have been awarded the prize,"

the organizers added.

María Corina Machado, commenting on the events in Venezuela, emphasized her desire to hand over her award to Trump on behalf of the Venezuelan people. She highlighted that the actions of the US president are historic and "a huge step towards democratic transition."

The Operation to Arrest Maduro

It is reminded that on January 3, Donald Trump announced the removal of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife from the country. It is known that the politicians have been brought to the USA. In Washington, Maduro is accused of playing a key role in an international cocaine smuggling scheme to America.

Additionally, it was reported in Caracas that as a result of the operation, 100 people were killed, including both military and civilians. At the same time, Cuba confirmed the deaths of 32 members of the Venezuelan military and intelligence services.

The situation in Venezuela leaves many questions unanswered regarding the country's future and its relations with the international community. The steps taken by new leaders and the reactions from major powers, including the USA, can significantly impact the further development of events in the region. The noted events further underscore the complexity of the political situation Venezuela faces today.
