Russian missile system Oreshnik has begun operations in Belarus: what is known.
According to ТСН: According to information provided by Russia and Belarus, the mobile ground missile system "Oreshnik" has started combat duty on the territory of Belarus.
This information is confirmed by statements from the defense ministries of both countries.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published a video with a solemn announcement about the start of combat duty of the Russian unit equipped with the "Oreshnik" system.
The message does not disclose the specific location of the system, nor the number of personnel ensuring its operation. However, it is emphasized that "the specialists of the combat launch, communication, protection, and power supply crews, as well as mechanics-drivers of the missile complex units" have undergone special retraining.
"All conditions for combat duty and the residence of Russian servicemen have been created in the Republic of Belarus. The personnel of the unit are familiarizing themselves with new areas of combat patrol," added the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Similar information was provided by the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, emphasizing that the complex "is capable of hitting targets at distances of up to 5000 kilometers, can be equipped with both conventional and special warheads and can be launched from any point along the combat patrol route."
We recall that the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, had previously stated that the "Oreshnik" has been deployed on the territory of his country and has started combat duty.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that Kyiv has the exact coordinates of the location of the "Oreshnik" missiles in Belarus and has already provided this data to Western allies for threat assessment.
It should be noted that the deployment of the missile system in Belarus strengthens Russia's military presence in the region, raising concerns in neighboring countries, including Ukraine. Information about the 'Oreshnik' and its capabilities gradually influences security strategy in Eastern Europe, emphasizing the importance of coordination between Western countries and their allies to respond to new challenges.
