What to Do When Your ATM Deposit Disappears and the Bank Loses Your Claim.
Deposit Issues Plague Oschadbank Customers
According to Novyny.live: Customers of Oschadbank are experiencing problems with deposits not being credited to their accounts, often due to power supply interruptions, which leads to significant delays in refunds. In one case, a client filed a formal claim for a missing deposit, but the bank was unable to locate any record of it. The customer is awaiting a refund for funds lost due to an ATM malfunction. While Oschadbank's standard claim review period is 30 days, this particular case has yielded no resolution beyond that timeframe.
The affected customer described the situation: 'I deposited the cash, but it never appeared on my card. I went straight to a branch and submitted a claim. They told me the bank reviews these within 30 days, so I kept checking my account. But the period from 09.02.2026 to 09.03.2026 passed with no result. When I went back to the branch, I was shocked—they said they couldn't find my claim registered in their system.'
The customer has also filed a complaint with the National Bank of Ukraine to seek a resolution. It's important to note that Oschadbank's ATMs are serviced for cash collection only once a week, and the full refund process can take up to 180 days. These extended timelines are causing considerable concern among clients facing similar issues. Such delays highlight the challenges of maintaining reliable banking services during periods of infrastructure strain.
Expert Advice for Handling Lost Funds
If you lose money at an ATM, financial experts recommend following these steps:
- Contact your bank's customer support immediately;
- Note down or photograph the device's identification number;
- Record the exact address of the ATM;
- Specify the card used, the transaction amount, and the precise time;
- If your card is retained by the machine, block it immediately and request a replacement;
To minimize the risk of losing funds at terminals or ATMs, it's also advised to avoid using unfamiliar machines, preferably withdraw cash from ATMs operated by your own card issuer, and conduct transactions inside bank premises when possible.
This ongoing situation at Oschadbank underscores the critical need for dependable banking services, especially during technical failures. Customers must remain vigilant and adhere to expert guidelines to protect themselves. The bank's capacity to respond promptly and effectively in these scenarios remains a key concern for service reliability.
