Pakistan Offers to Host US-Iran Negotiations.
US-Iran Talks on the Horizon
According to UATV: Pakistan has stepped forward as a potential venue for dialogue between the United States and Iran. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that a meeting could take place in the coming days. The initiative has already received backing from the US, Iran, China, and the UN. A recent gathering in Islamabad brought together the foreign ministers of Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan to discuss regional security concerns, marking a significant diplomatic development.
Pakistan’s Stance and International Support
Ishaq Dar emphasized that
“this war benefits no one and will only lead to death and destruction”, adding that
“the unity of the Muslim community during these challenging times is of utmost importance.”The minister also reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to facilitate meaningful negotiations aimed at achieving a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the ongoing conflict.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio weighed in, noting that military hostilities between the US and Iran could persist for another two to four weeks. Dar further stated that 'China fully supports Pakistan’s initiative to host Iranian-American talks.' Regional diplomacy is thus intensifying as stakeholders seek ways to reduce tensions between the two nations.
Pakistan’s offer to mediate US-Iran talks represents a key step in de-escalation efforts. With backing from major international players like China and the UN, conditions may be ripe for more constructive dialogue. Dar’s emphasis on Muslim community unity in the context of regional security reflects a broader push for stability amid a complex geopolitical landscape.
