Pope Francis noted that violence and many deaths must come to an end.
“Let’s see how they can come to an agreement. Because after all this time, what is the goal of the war? We should always strive for dialogue, diplomatic efforts, rather than violence, not weapons”, he emphasized.
Pope Francis Leo XIV explained what he expects from the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Alaska. According to him, it is always necessary to strive for a ceasefire. This statement comes against the backdrop of Trump’s intention to personally meet with Putin, as well as to roll out the red carpet for him. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has already explained the purpose of such a meeting.
