The PAS party wins the elections in Moldova: what the Euromajority means.
According to inkorr.com: In Moldova, where parliamentary elections were held on September 28, the Central Election Commission has counted almost all votes - 98.81% of the protocols.
According to the results, the 'Action and Solidarity' party (Partidul Acțiune și Solidaritate, PAS) received about half of the votes - 49.82%. The 'Patriotic Bloc', led by former president Igor Dodon, garnered 24.38% of the votes.
In third place was the 'Alternative' bloc, which received 8.02% of the votes.
Distribution of seats in parliament
The parliamentary elections in Moldova are held with a barrier: 5% for parties and 7% for blocs. In the new parliament, which will consist of 101 deputies, the PAS party has the opportunity to gain a significant majority and form a government independently.
According to the distribution of seats, the PAS may receive 52 seats, while the 'Patriotic Bloc' is expected to have 28, and the 'Alternative' bloc - 9 seats.
The formally pro-Russian party 'Democracy at Home', suspected of having ties with the FSB, and populist Renato Usatyi with the 'Our Party' will also enter the parliament.
Thus, the PAS party will have enough to continue Moldova's Euro-integration course without seeking support from other forces.
Having received significant support in the elections, the 'Action and Solidarity' party (PAS) has gained the opportunity to govern the country independently. This is an important moment for Moldova as it strengthens stability and contributes to the continuation of the Euro-integration course.
