Disability pension in 2025: who receives it and what is the amount of payments.
Ukrainian citizens with disabilities have the opportunity to receive a pension earlier than the general retirement age, provided they have the required insurance experience. This is reported by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
Eligibility for a disability pension is granted to those who have officially been declared disabled. To receive the pension, it is important to have a defined minimum of insurance experience, which depends on the disability group and the person's age.
- Group I disability: from 1 year of experience (for persons under 25 years) to 10 years (for ages 54-59).
- Groups II and III disabilities: from 1 year of experience (up to 23 years) to 14 years (for ages 56-59).
What is the amount of payments in 2025
Legislation stipulates that the amount of a disability pension is calculated based on the amount of the retirement pension:
- Group I — 100% of the retirement pension;
- Group II — 90% of the retirement pension;
- Group III — 50% of the retirement pension.
How to apply for a disability pension
An application for a disability pension can be submitted through the electronic portal of the PFU or in person at the service center of the Pension Fund. Payment is appointed from the day disability is established, if the application is submitted within three months from that moment.
Ukrainian citizens with disabilities have the right to a pension earlier if they received official recognition of their disability and have the necessary insurance experience. The amount of the pension depends on the disability group and the person's age, which is also taken into account when determining insurance experience.
