More than half of the MSEC decisions regarding the establishment of disability for officials have been checked in Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health (MoH).

Together with law enforcement, MoH conducted a review of medical conclusions about disability issued to civil servants.

A total of 1359 MSEC decisions have been checked out of 2636 cases concerning officials from more than 70 government agencies.

'Specialists have already reviewed 1359 cases of officials: 281 previously made MSEC decisions have been canceled, in 232 cases the disability group or the term of decision has been changed, and nearly 500 individuals have been summoned for examination,' - said MoH head Viktor Lyashko.

Viktor Lyashko also noted that the list of individuals whose cases need to be reviewed is constantly increasing, with additional data coming in from law enforcement.

The purpose of the checks is to support only those who truly need it, due to considerations not only of law but also of social justice.

Case reviews are conducted by experts from the Ukrainian State Research Institute of Medical and Social Problems of Disability in Dnipro.

Viktor Lyashko promised to continue informing the public about the results of the checks.

It should be recalled that a false diagnosis from the MSEC for officials can be the basis for opening a criminal case, as stated by the State Bureau of Investigations.

Earlier, a lawyer explained whether persons with disabilities need to undergo a medical commission.
