The filming for the New Year's movie "Train on December 31" is coming to a close in Kyiv. The film will be released on January 1, 2025. The director of the film, Oleh Borshchevsky, believes that it will be a good comedy that many Ukrainians will watch.

The film tells the story of a group of Ukrainians traveling on the Kyiv-Lviv train for New Year's. The creators of the film tried to make a traditional New Year's movie that everyone will like and will become a Ukrainian New Year's tradition.

According to the film's producer, Zoia Soshenko, this movie is about Ukrainians, about joyful and unexpected moments in life. The film tells how the journey home unites people and how different they can be, but still similar in their dreams and values.

Producer Yurii Horbunov said that in the future, they plan to make a few more films with a similar theme, such as "Train on December 31 - 2", "Taxi on December 31", and "Airplane on December 31".

This film was made without state funds or support from foundations. All expenses were covered by sponsors and private investors. Julia Yarmolenko, the head of the supervisory board of the Kyiv BKK company, noted that this film will become a special New Year's tradition for Ukrainians.

Maxim Kryvytskyi, head of the television business at 1+1 media, promised the media holding's support for "Train on December 31" so that as many viewers as possible can see the film on screens and broadcast on the channel "1+1 Ukraine".

Horbunov also emphasized the importance of developing Ukrainian cinematography and the film industry during the war. He noted that Ukraine needs "positivity and humor," especially in the context of the information war being waged by Russia. Horbunov emphasized that all rights to the series belong to the state, and its premiere will take place on channels with the widest reach.

The status of actors is also noted, however, in Ukrainian cinematography, they receive a stipend rather than a salary. In 2022, the actor received about 70,000 hryvnias per month.
