22-year-old footballer of the Swiss youth national team Silvan Wallner has ended his career due to religious beliefs. This was reported by Swiss media.

The defender of the 'Blau-Weiss Linz' team from the Austrian Bundesliga announced the end of his professional football career. This decision came as a surprise, considering his youth. Wallner is only 22 years old, and he would have turned 23 in January 2025.

The reason for this decision was religious belief. Wallner is a follower of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, which prohibits working on Saturday, as their holy day. Since most of the Bundesliga matches take place on Saturday, the footballer decided to end his professional career.

Wallner started his career at 'Zurich' and was a member of the Swiss U17 and U18 teams. In the summer of 2024, he moved to 'Blau-Weiss Linz' for 200 thousand euros from 'Zurich'. In his new team, he played 13 matches.

French President Emmanuel Macron plans to attend a football match between France and Israel. This match will be a confirmation of France's support after attacks on Jewish fans in Amsterdam.

The President wishes to demonstrate full support for the French team, as always, at every match.

Macron also wants to convey a 'message of brotherhood and solidarity' through this match in light of recent cases of antisemitism.

The match between France and Israel in the Nations League will take place on November 14 at the 'Stade de France' stadium in the suburbs of Paris. According to Paris Police Chief Laurent Nunez, it will be a risky game, and about 4000 police officers will be appointed to it.

The Israeli authorities have urged their citizens to refrain from traveling to this match. The country's National Security Council reported that calls for violence against Israelis and Jews during protests and demonstrations are spreading, and mass sports events could exacerbate this situation.

Even in such a situation, the Jewish movement 'Beitar' announced that it will hold a rally against antisemitism in Paris before the football match.

After the match between the 'Maccabi' and 'Ajax' clubs in the Netherlands, where there was a clash between Israelis and activists, the police arrested 63 people. However, by the morning of November 9, only four remained detained.

President Macron also had a conversation with Donald Trump after his victory in the US presidential elections. In this conversation, Macron and Trump expressed their desire to work together to ensure peace and stability in the face of international crises.
