The Pension Fund clarified the conditions for continuing the pension in case of loss of a breadwinner

The press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) reported that the pension due to the loss of a breadwinner is a form of state support for families who have lost a loved one. In this regard, a question was raised regarding the conditions for continuing the payment of this pension.

'My daughter was granted a pension due to the loss of a breadwinner. Now she is 18 years old, and the payments have stopped. Can the payments be continued?'

PFU representatives explained that there are certain cases when it is possible to continue the pension payment.

Usually, pension payments to children after the death of a breadwinner stop when the child turns 18. However, there is an exception if the child is studying full-Time in an educational institution. In this case, the pension will be paid until the end of their studies or until they reach the age of 23. To continue the payments, an application must be submitted to the PFU.

The application can be submitted online on the PFU website using an electronic signature or in person at a PFU service center. When submitting the application, it is necessary to have the originals of the passport, identification code, a certificate from the educational institution about their studies, and a certificate of opening a bank account.

We remind you that pensioners can also receive additional payments and allowances.
