UOC MP Archbishop Left Ukraine After Scandal with Underground School.
According to ТСН: The head of the men's monastery "Holy Protection Holosiivska Desert" Archbishop Isaakiy Vorzelsky, known in the world as Fedir Andronik, likely left Ukraine shortly after the publication of an investigation into the activities of an underground school on the territory of the UOC MP monastery in Kyiv.
According to law enforcement data, the clergyman left for abroad on the evening of January 7, the day after the investigation was released. He crossed the border in a Toyota car, which he usually used in the capital, heading to Moldova via the "Mogyliv-Podilskyi-Otach" checkpoint. According to sources, the archbishop has already been on the territory of Moldova for almost a week.
Journalists tried to contact Isaakiy Vorzelsky for a comment, but over five days he did not respond to calls and messages. It is known that the head of the monastery is 61 years old.
In addition, journalists approached the head of the Synodal Information and Educational Department of the UOC MP, Metropolitan Klyment, for a comment. He previously claimed that the educational institution mentioned in the investigation was not established by the synod's decision and does not have official registration.
The metropolitan also noted that he is not aware of the existence of the school at the specific monastery. In response to a question about the possible departure of Archbishop Isaakiy, Klyment added that he is currently not in Kyiv and does not have such information, emphasizing that journalists "already know more than he does".
Scandal with the Underground School
It should be recalled that the investigation "Slidstvo.Info" reported on the activities of an illegal school on the territory of the UOC MP "Holosiivska Desert" in Kyiv. According to journalists, children at this school are taught using Soviet textbooks and are engaged in performing Soviet songs.
Following the release of the material, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the start of a check into possible illegal activities on the territory of the monastery. The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Oksen Lisovyi, instructed the State Service for Quality of Education to verify the facts presented in the investigation.
This situation has caused a wide resonance in society. The verification of the monastery's activities and its underground school may have significant consequences not only for the UOC MP but also for the education system in Ukraine in the context of modern requirements and standards. We will observe the development of events, as this may impact religious communities and their responsible approach to the upbringing of youth.
