Ukraine Defense Contact Group Meeting
According to UATV: On June 18, 2023, the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, also known as the 'Ramstein' format, convened in Brussels. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius delivered a speech emphasizing the need to continue supporting Ukraine as the war with Russia intensifies. He pointed out that Russia's war against Ukraine is causing severe casualties among its own forces.
Pistorius stressed the importance of coordinating aid to Ukraine, stating:
“Our support for Ukraine continues, and we will keep acting this way.”He also highlighted the critical role of the contact group, saying:
“The support of our contact group is extraordinarily important.”In his address, the minister underscored that Russia's actions in Ukraine are inflicting heavy damage, noting: “Putin is in a dead end. His illegal invasion of Ukraine is causing great harm and leading to significant losses among his own troops.”
International Support for Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also attended the meeting, underscoring the importance of international backing during this challenging period. Pistorius concluded that Ukraine’s innovative approach to warfare will become a new element for allies to learn from, stating: “This approach to warfare will be a completely new element for us that we must learn from Ukraine.”
