On July 9, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told reporters that he hopes to exchange expertise and build a long-term partnership with the company, stressing the strategic value of having Mitsubishi operate inside Ukraine. This effort is part of a broader push to reduce reliance on foreign arms imports and strengthen national self-sufficiency in defense.

Mitsubishi currently holds a license to produce Patriot missiles, a cornerstone of modern air defense systems.
