North Korea sends more troops to Russia amid heavy losses - The Telegraph.

North Korea has dispatched additional troops to Russia following significant losses, estimates indicate.
The exact number of new soldiers deployed by North Korea will be established by South Korea, but local reports suggest it may be between 1,000 and 3,000 personnel.
These troops were stationed in the Kursk region of Russia earlier this month.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that North Korean soldiers have returned to the front lines, which has been confirmed by South Korean intelligence agencies.
The National Intelligence Service reported: 'After a month-long hiatus, North Korean troops have been re-stationed near Kursk since early February.' Last year, North Korea sent approximately 10,000-12,000 troops to Russia and provided a substantial amount of weaponry.
In January, the National Intelligence Agency reported that about 300 North Korean soldiers were killed and 2,700 injured. President Zelensky estimated the total number of casualties at 4,000, while U.S. estimates were approximately 1,200.
According to the publication, South Korea, the U.S., and their allies express concern that Russia may provide North Korea with advanced weapons technology in exchange for troops and ammunition, which would bolster Pyongyang's nuclear program. North Korea is also expected to receive economic aid, food, oil, and weaponry from Russia.
'This is the first major armed conflict abroad in which North Korea has deployed its forces. Kim Jong Un is seeking new allies after the failure of diplomacy with Donald Trump in 2019. Last June, he improved relations with Vladimir Putin and renewed the defense pact established during the Cold War with Russia. Despite Trump's interest in resuming contact with Kim, the North Korean leader has not publicly responded,' the article from The Telegraph states.
