Germany accuses Ukrainians of sabotage for Russia: details of the case

According to ТСН: In Germany, two citizens of Ukraine have been detained on suspicion of preparing sabotage acts commissioned by Russia. It involves Vladislav T. and Danila B., whom the Federal Prosecutor's Office of Germany accuses of espionage and conspiracy to commit arson.

The investigation believes that the suspects from Cologne sent packages with GPS trackers to Ukraine to gather information about logistical routes. These routes were planned for sending packages with explosive devices. The explosions were to occur during transportation, including on the territory of Germany, "with the aim of causing as much damage as possible and undermining the sense of security of the population," the prosecutor's office statement notes.

Charges and Arrests

Vladislav T. and Danila B. have already been charged in the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart. The case also involves a third suspect – Yevgeny B., who was recently extradited from Switzerland to Germany. All three suspects are currently in custody, and charges are expected to be announced soon.

The arrests of Vladislav T. and Danila B. took place in May 2025 in Cologne and Konstanz. In the same month, German law enforcement issued an arrest warrant for Yevgeny B., who was detained in the Swiss canton of Thurgau. On December 23, he was handed over to the German side.

Recruitment of Ukrainians for Sabotage

It was previously reported that Russian special services are actively involving Ukrainians in sabotage operations in European countries. This is done to undermine NATO unity and set European society against Ukraine.

According to experts, Kremlin-linked intelligence officers recruit people through messengers, notably Telegram, as well as through gaming platforms. Often these individuals do not even realize what they are participating in. They are used as so-called "one-time agents" for arson, acts of vandalism, and other sabotage.

This situation indicates a significant threat posed by Russian special services in European countries, aiming to destabilize the situation and exploit Ukrainians in their plans. Cooperation between law enforcement agencies of different countries is becoming critically important to counter such challenges and enhance security on the continent.
