Beating of a veteran in Smila: the police caught the suspect, he recorded a video with apologies.


In Smila, Cherkasy region, a suspect in the beating of a military man was detained. This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
According to the information, former Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fighter Anatoliy Goncharenko was brutally beaten by a "criminal authority" after he exposed him on social media as the culprit of an accident, in which his parents were injured.
The suspect, 28-year-old Vadym Dolotenko, was hiding in a hotel in the Cherkasy region, but was detained by the police. Now he will be selected a preventive measure, and criminal cases will be initiated under four articles.
During the search at Dolotenko's residence, a narcotic substance and a weapon were found. As a result, the investigation added additional information to the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations on the fact of illegal storage of weapons and drugs.
The police are also investigating two criminal cases regarding the beating of a veteran in Smila - hooliganism committed by a group of people, and extortion. The suspect Vadym Dolotenko was announced as a suspect.
A video appeared in which Dolotenko apologizes to the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian army for the committed situation.
Vadym Dolotenko had also previously appeared in criminal cases involving bodily injuries and robberies.
