Customers Forced Mercedes to Continue Production of Popular Model.

The company Mercedes-Benz planned to stop production of the A-Class vehicles by 2026. However, the huge demand for the model forced the German giant to continue their production at least until 2028.

Reasons for Continuation

The Mercedes A-Class will remain in the lineup even after the launch of the new CLA. The reason is stable demand, especially in the European market. In Germany alone, nearly 8000 new A-Class cars were sold in the first half of 2025.

The high demand for the A-Class generation introduced in 2018 is linked to the pricing of the cars. In Germany, the 5-door A 180 starts at 34,252 euros, while the new electric CLA starts at around 56,000 euros, and even with an internal combustion engine, it is unlikely to be available for under 40,000 euros.

Change of Course

At the beginning of 2024, the company underwent a strategic shift.
