Ukraine is facing a shortage of new crop cabbage, which has led to a significant increase in the price of this vegetable. This was reported by EastFruit.

Due to hot weather, cabbage ripening has significantly slowed down. As a result, prices for it have sharply increased.

Today, white cabbage can be purchased in Ukrainian farms at a price of 18-25 UAH/kg. This is on average 63% more expensive than at the beginning of last week.

Industry experts explain the rising price trend by the rather limited supply of this product on the market. Most farms have already completed the season for early cabbage varieties, while the later product has not yet begun to enter the market in bulk. At the same Time, demand for this product is very high, which also provokes price increases.

It should also be noted that the quality of white cabbage has decreased due to the spread of diseases and pests. This allowed sellers to raise prices for quality cabbage.

Overall, the price of cabbage in Ukraine has already increased by 2.7 times compared to the same period last year.
