Massive Strikes Hit Crimea: Fuel Depot and Key Power Substations Targeted.
Strikes in Crimea
According to Espreso.tv: Multiple impacts have been recorded across Crimea, particularly in Feodosia and at the PS 220 kV 'Donuzlav' electrical substation. Four strikes were reported in Feodosia, with three hitting near a fuel depot and one on Mount Tepe-Oba. These events have caused significant damage, including a fire at the PS 220 kV 'Donuzlav' substation located in the Saky district, roughly 6 kilometers northeast of the Myrnyi settlement.
Additionally, the PS 110/35/10 kV 'Mytiaievo' electrical substation was damaged in the strikes. This facility steps down high voltage for distribution to towns and villages. Notably, the 'Mytiaievo' solar power plant, which has a capacity of 32 MW, has been operational since 2012.
Regional Situation
Tensions remain high in the region, as on the night of July 1, the Security Service of Ukraine struck hangars housing Russian fighter jets at the Saky airfield in Crimea. These developments underscore that Crimea has once again become a focal point for active military operations, severely impacting local infrastructure and security. The peninsula, annexed by Russia in 2014, continues to be a critical strategic zone in the ongoing conflict.
These incidents highlight the urgent need to monitor military actions and their toll on civilians, as Crimea remains a strategically vital area where both sides of the conflict maintain substantial military forces.
The reported events point to an escalation of the conflict in Crimea and its consequences for civilian infrastructure. Damage to electrical substations could lead to power outages for local residents, further complicating the already strained situation in the region.
