Poundland Stops Sales of the £3 Meal Deals: What Will Happen to the Chain.
Poundland Meal Deal Update
According to The Sun: Poundland has confirmed that their promotional lunch deal is temporarily unavailable until October.
The £3 lunch offer has disappeared as the discount chain works on new agreements with suppliers.
Poundland has announced the absence of its £3 lunch deal.EPAThe past month has been significant for the chain: there was High Court approval for the implementation of a comprehensive restructuring plan.
Under this plan, up to 68 stores will close and 1000 jobs will be cut.
Starting September 16, customers will also no longer be able to purchase goods through the website, and the Poundland Perks loyalty program will be discontinued.
Additionally, the store will close its frozen and digital distribution center in Darton, South Yorkshire, this year.
It is important to mention that frozen chests and some refrigeration shelves will be removed from the stores.
According to company representatives, the range of chilled products, including the promotional lunch, is already being reduced as part of the rescue plan.
However, as The Grocer magazine reports, this lunch combination has been missing from the shelves for "weeks".
An employee told the newspaper: "We won't have any fresh deliveries until October. I don't know when the lunch deal will return."
"We are in a 'transition phase', as we are removing the frozen chests and some refrigeration shelves from the stores after our restructuring plan was approved at the end of last month," a Poundland representative stated.
"We intend to conclude this program by the beginning of October so that we can fully implement our updated product range, which focuses on prices of £1, £2, and £3."
The company's lunch offer remains cheaper than the competition from Tesco and Sainsbury's.
At Tesco, Clubcard holders pay £3.85 for this combination, while without a card, it costs £4.25.
Meanwhile, the lunch deal at Sainsbury's costs £3.95.
Changes at Poundland
This news comes against the backdrop of Poundland returning to its roots, with plans to increase the number of £1 products in stores.
As part of the changes, the discounter will introduce price models of £1, £2, and £3 for all products.
The new price models will be gradually rolled out in all Poundland stores across the UK this month.
The number of products sold for £1 is expected to rise to 60%.
20% of products will be sold for £2, and another 20% for £3.
The store will also close six of its locations on September 28 as part of the sale to US investors, Gordon Brothers.
Poundland has already announced the closure of 58 out of 68 stores this year.
Additionally, the company has started large clearance sales in some branches, offering discounts of up to 90%.

It is important for Poundland owners to offer advantageous deals to their customers; however, changes in strategy could impact the availability of popular products. In light of corporate reforms, it is expected that prices for products and services will also undergo changes. Whether the company can maintain consumer loyalty under the new conditions remains to be seen.
