Military personnel can return from AWOL through the 'Army+' app: new procedure.
According to ТСН: A serviceman can return from absence without leave (AWOL) through the mobile application 'Army+'. The press service of the Ministry of Defense explained how to do this. To reinstate in service, the serviceman must submit the appropriate report via the mobile app. The units of the State Border Guard Service receive these reports and direct the servicemen to one of the reserve battalions.
Steps to take after the report is received
organization of interaction with the serviceman who submitted the application; verification and clarification of his personal data and documents needed for the continuation of service
interaction with the command of the reserve battalion
conducting activities to send the serviceman to the reserve battalion
The department noted that after confirmation in 'Army+', the serviceman has 24 hours to arrive at the relevant management authority of the State Border Guard Service, receive the assignment, and head to the reserve unit.
'At the reserve unit, this serviceman is enrolled in the lists of personnel of the reserve battalion.'
the message states. According to part 5 of article 401 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, a serviceman who has committed AWOL for the first time during wartime can be exempted from criminal liability.
Captain of the Armed Forces Vitaliy Samoylenko previously noted that the shortage of personnel is one of the main reasons for absence without leave, complicating the organization of regular rotations.
This initiative of the Ministry of Defense is an important step in addressing the issue of returning servicemen to service. In order to ensure optimal unit strength, the use of the mobile application can significantly simplify the process and reduce cases of absence without leave. The situation in the country requires coordination and speed in responding to such challenges.
