Romania has changed the entry conditions for Ukrainian drivers. Now, without a certificate of the vehicle's technical condition, border guards simply will not allow entry. This change applies to both passenger and cargo vehicles. The new regulation is already in effect, so it is better to prepare in advance.

Ukrainian drivers planning a trip to Romania should be cautious, as they will not be permitted to enter the country without the vehicle's technical condition certificate. This applies not only to drivers who temporarily cross the border but also to transit travelers.

The technical inspection certificate is an official document that confirms that the vehicle is operational and meets all safety standards. It can only be obtained after passing inspections at certified stations. Experts check the brakes, tires, lighting, exhaust gases, and other key vehicle systems.

Required Documents at the Border

In addition to the technical inspection certificate, to enter Romania, you must have:

• a biometric passport or visa;
• vehicle documents;
• medical insurance;
• proof of the purpose of the trip (hotel reservation or invitation);
• military registration document (for men aged 18 to 60);
• power of attorney if you are driving someone else's vehicle.

It is also important to know the restrictions: it is prohibited to import meat, dairy products, honey, weapons, drugs, animals without permits, pirated goods, and cash over 10,000 euros without declaration.
