The Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, stated that for sustainable peace in Europe, security guarantees for Ukraine must be provided after the war ends.
It is necessary for all European countries to live in peace and security. We need to seek sustainable peace - which obviously includes security guarantees for Ukraine, but also for other countries
Bettel specified that security guarantees will vary depending on the states providing them: this could include NATO membership or bilateral or multilateral agreements, the details of which still need to be discussed.
He also emphasized that the search for ways to establish peace can only be done together with Ukraine.
This (the search for peace) cannot be done by someone else speaking on behalf of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. Only representatives of Ukraine can make decisions, concluded Bettel.
