According to The Sun: A controversial situation occurred at Old Trafford when the team Sunderland was not awarded a penalty at the end of the first half.

Referee Stuart Attwell initially pointed to the penalty spot after discussing with the assistant, who reported a high kick by Benjamin Sesko from Manchester United against Trai Hulme following a long throw into the penalty area.

However, the referee did not notice a foul, and after consulting with the assistant, confirmed that a penalty should indeed be awarded.
