Andrew has always denied any accusations and claimed that he ended his friendship with the financier after learning of his crimes.

However, the FBI is still trying to contact Andrew following Epstein's death in 2019.

Former Attorney General's Report

When former Attorney General Bill Barr held his position, he was aware of the high-profile court proceedings related to Epstein.

Recently, Barr's testimony, which he gave to the House Oversight Committee in August, was made public.

The document consists of about 120 pages in which he was asked about the importance of Andrew's testimony for the investigation.

“I don't know whether he was a target, but as far as I know, he was at least a witness,”
Barr stated.

Andrew has not visited the U.S. since the FBI announced it wanted to talk to him.

Pressure from Prosecutors

Barr also mentioned serious accusations against Andrew made by senior U.S. prosecutor Geoffrey Berman.

“Andrew has not provided any cooperation to the FBI,”
Berman stated at a press conference near Epstein's estate in New York. AP

Epstein and Prince Andrew had been friends for several years before the financier was arrested on serious trafficking charges.

Prince Andrew has also faced accusations from Virginia Giuffre, who claimed she was forced to have sexual relations with him three times when she was 17 years old. But Andrew denies all accusations.

Release of Epstein Documents

Recently, thousands of documents related to Epstein were released. In early September, the House Oversight Committee published 33,295 pages of material that were provided by the Department of Justice after a request.

The documents revealed strange notes, messages, and photographs that jeopardized the reputation of many public figures.

Among other things, a record was found in which a woman claimed she met Prince Andrew and “saw the private quarters of Buckingham Palace.”
