The 'Affordable Medicines' program in every village - why it is extremely necessary.
Why the 'Affordable Medicines' program is so important
In a comment to News.LIVE journalist Anna Syryk, the head of the National Health Service of Ukraine, Natalia Husak, stated this.
According to Natalia Husak, the goal of the program is to ensure territorial accessibility so that all pharmacies (both large chains and small local points) participate in the reimbursement program (refund of the cost of certain medical products and medicines - ed.). Therefore, the situation will be changed.
'We see that, for example, in a village there are several thousand residents. However, the pharmacy located in the village is not a participant of the 'Affordable Medicines'. And patients need to travel several kilometers to the district center,' said Natalia Husak.
The head of the National Health Service emphasized that her agency is studying foreign practices and has therefore confirmed that this solution is correct for assisting Ukrainians.
It was previously reported that 'Affordable Medicines' remain one of the key tools for preventing cardiovascular diseases and supporting patients with chronic illnesses. The program has been operating in Ukraine for over seven years.
Moreover, we informed that the rules for the sale of the drug nalbuphine have been changed in Ukraine. Now, this medication can only be obtained through an electronic prescription.
The conclusion: The 'Affordable Medicines' program in Ukraine aims to ensure territorial access to medicines for residents even in remote villages. This will help provide residents with medications without the need to travel several kilometers to the district center.Read also
