Driving on a Yellow Traffic Light: Serious Punishments for Drivers.
Drivers face penalties for passing through a yellow traffic light according to bill No. 12172. Many drivers ignore the yellow signal and accelerate, which can lead to accidents. In 2023, approximately 300 traffic accidents occurred in Ukraine due to passing on a yellow light.
A fine of 510 to 680 hryvnias is imposed for passing through a yellow traffic light. However, for offenders who systematically violate the rules, a suspension of driving rights for six months to twelve months may be applied if no less than three violations are recorded within a year.
Thus, for the first violation, a fine of 510 hryvnias is imposed, for the second - 680 hryvnias, and for the third - 2250 hryvnias and a suspension of the driver's license for one year.
Previously, there were discussions about penalties for drivers ignoring military registration.
