Putin called Xi Jinping a reliable friend: what it means for Ukraine.
According to ТСН:
"I evaluate Xi Jinping as my reliable friend and a stable partner and ally of Russia. This is the main basis for the development of our Russian-Chinese relations," the dictator emphasized.
Relations between Russia and China
Vladimir Putin characterized relations with Chinese leader Xi Jinping as based on strong friendship and cooperation. During the 'Direct Line', he emphasized that the ties between Moscow and Beijing are developing steadily and successfully.
Putin noted that trade turnover between Russia and China amounts to approximately 240-250 billion dollars. Although this amount is less than with the countries of the European Union, Russia still ranks first in cooperation with China.
Military cooperation
In addition to economic ties, Putin emphasized active military cooperation between Moscow and Beijing. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also noted the strengthening military cooperation between China and Russia, pointing out that China is gaining influence over Russian resources.
According to GUR, the Ukrainian intelligence currently has no confirmation that China is supplying Russia with finished weapons, only components for their production. This indicates a clear position of the PRC on this issue.
Relations between Russia and China continue to strengthen, and this may significantly impact the political and economic situation in the region. Cooperation in the military sphere also raises concerns among neighboring countries, as the strengthening of military might between the two countries could change the balance of power in the world.
