Defense Minister Fedorov: Over 211 Kilometers of Protective Barriers Installed in May.
Ukraine’s Defense Infrastructure Expansion
According to Espreso.tv: Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has announced the deployment of protective barriers and the restoration of road infrastructure across the country. In May alone, more than 211 kilometers of defensive structures were placed along transport routes, marking a critical step in enhancing national security.
Additionally, nearly 38 kilometers of damaged road sections have been repaired, while 115.5 kilometers of highways in frontline regions have been restored. Since the start of 2025, the total length of anti-drone corridors has reached 822 kilometers. The recovery of over 170 kilometers of damaged roads also stands out as a key achievement.
Government Efforts to Strengthen Defense Capabilities
In February, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense reported an acceleration in the construction of anti-drone netting, underscoring the government’s commitment to bolstering the country’s defensive readiness.
These initiatives reflect the Ukrainian authorities’ active push to reinforce both infrastructure and defense capacity amid ongoing military challenges. Restoring road networks not only improves logistics but also raises safety levels for civilians. It is noteworthy that such projects are being carried out even under persistent threats, highlighting Ukraine’s determination to protect its territory and people.
