Putin wants to prolong the war in Ukraine

The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin in Alaska did not bring any fundamental progress in ending the war in Ukraine. However, it confirmed that Putin is seeking not peace, but opportunities to weaken Western unity and spread his propaganda.

This was stated by Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová on social media X, on Saturday, August 16.

Černochová noted that Putin is trying to prolong the conflict to achieve the maximum of his goals regarding Russian expansion, ignoring human casualties and the devastation of Ukrainian cities.

'Nevertheless, the meeting was important, among other things, because it reveals the true motives and mindset of Putin. For us, it follows that we must maintain Western unity and diligently support Ukraine so that any possible agreement on a ceasefire or peace is not merely at Russia's discretion. This is in our vital interests', - she wrote.

It is worth noting that despite the fact that Putin is an official war criminal as defined by the International Criminal Court, US President Donald Trump provided him with an honor guard and a red carpet at their meeting.

The US leader himself was very pleased to see the Russian dictator. Trump applauded, smiled, and happily shook the hand of the killer of Ukrainians.

We also wrote that US journalists persistently asked Putin about the murders of Ukrainians. He pretended not to hear anything, and then shouted something in response.

The Ukrainian Defense Minister believes that Putin is trying to continue the war in Ukraine to achieve his aggressive goals and calls on the West to support Ukraine and maintain unity in the face of the threat from Russia.
