Putin Is Losing the War and Faces a Tough Choice, Expert Warns.
Insights from Alexander Morozov
According to Espreso.tv: Alexander Morozov, a Russian opposition expert currently based in Prague, shared his assessment in an interview that Vladimir Putin cannot achieve his objectives in the war against Ukraine and now stands at a critical crossroads. According to Morozov, the Russian president's position has become extremely precarious, describing it as having reached 'the top floor' of this conflict. He added that 'only the next floor remains, but climbing there is already very difficult for him—and I would say, simply unrealistic.'
Potential Fallout from the Conflict
Morozov also cautioned about the severe repercussions that could arise from an open confrontation between Russia and Poland, as well as the Baltic states. He emphasized that if Putin intends to provoke these nations, any influential leader in Russia must recognize that such a move would be 'suicidal.'
Notably, on July 3, a U.S. official from Washington warned Warsaw about potential Russian plans to carry out an armed provocation on Polish soil.
Additionally, on July 9, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that Russia is waging both a hybrid and kinetic war against France and Poland. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte urged Russia and Vladimir Putin not to 'play games' with the alliance, underscoring the gravity of the situation and its possible implications for international security.

These remarks highlight the expert's growing concern over the Kremlin's next moves and their potential impact on regional security.
Morozov's reflections capture the increasing alarm among experts about possible escalations in Eastern Europe, especially given the volatile situation in Ukraine and Russia's activities in the area. Statements from Polish and international leaders signal a readiness to defend their interests, which could spark further tensions between Russia and Western nations. These developments continue to shape the international political landscape amid the ongoing war in Ukraine and the looming threats to neighboring countries' security.
