According to Novyny.live: The annual World's Best Airline Awards have unveiled their 2026 rankings, highlighting top carriers globally and within Asia. Qatar Airways claimed the title of world's best airline for 2026. Cathay Pacific secured the runner-up position, while Singapore Airlines rounded out the top three. Korean Air took fourth place, and STARLUX Airlines landed in fifth.
European Carriers and Budget Airlines
Among European airlines, Turkish Airlines achieved seventh place in the overall standings. Virgin Atlantic came in 13th, KLM ranked 18th, and Air France placed 19th. LOT Polish Airlines completed the top 20, taking the 20th spot.
The awards also recognized the best low-cost carriers in Europe. AirBaltic ranked fourth among budget airlines, with easyJet in eighth and Wizz Air in ninth. Lufthansa was named the top hybrid carrier, outperforming SWISS, which placed seventh in the hybrid category. Finnair came in eighth, while British Airways ranked ninth.
Notably, over 60,000 aircraft parts with falsified documentation were discovered on planes operated by major global airlines, raising serious safety concerns. Additionally, airfare prices may increase due to rising fuel costs linked to the conflict in Iran.
