The Verkhovna Rada has approved the state budget of Ukraine for 2025
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this on social media.
According to the approved document, the total funding for the security and defense sector will amount to 2.23 trillion hryvnias. A record amount of 739 billion hryvnias has been allocated for the production and purchasing of weapons. Special attention is paid to the modernization of the defense industry and the procurement of drones.
The second priority of the budget is the social sphere. Nearly 421 billion hryvnias are allocated for social assistance programs. Pension indexing is planned for March 2025.
Approximately 199 billion hryvnias are allocated for education funding, and 217 billion hryvnias for healthcare. Of these funds, 17.5 billion hryvnias will be directed to the modernization of educational institutions and the arrangement of shelters, while 10.7 billion hryvnias will be aimed at updating medical facilities, acquiring modern equipment, and creating rehabilitation centers.
An increase in local budgets' resources by 15% is also planned for 2025.
