Another incident occurred when a lighter was thrown from the stands.

This was already the second stoppage in play during a tense match.

The first stoppage occurred in the 80th minute when referees had to remove a lighter that landed on the field.

A bottle with a liquid appeared just three minutes later, stopping the game and causing tension in the stands as Norwich tried to increase the pace of play.

Fans were astonished by such behavior, expressing their outrage on social media.

One fan wrote: “What’s the point if you are leading 3-1 and ruining it for your club!!”
Another fan said: “I can’t and don’t support fans throwing things at players, but how on earth did an Ipswich fan sneak a vodka bottle into the stadium?”

Projectiles were also dealt with during Saturday's Premier League match between Tottenham and Leeds, and these incidents are currently being investigated by the FA.

But in Ipswich, these cases were just an addition to an already dramatic day.

Ipswich Claims Victory

Jayden Philogene scored a historic goal, granting Ipswich their first victory in the East Anglian derby in 16 years.

Cedric Kipre opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, but Norwich quickly equalized, scoring three minutes later through Oscar Schwartau.

In the first minute of added time in the first half, Philogene unleashed an incredible shot from 30 yards into Vladan Kovacevic’s goal.

And 13 minutes before the end, Ipswich secured three points when Jack Clarke scored after Ivan Azon’s initial shot hit the post.

The team not only deserved praise but also claimed their third victory of the season.

This already fiery derby gained even more intensity after Marcelino Nunez moved from Norwich to Ipswich.

Ipswich fans did not miss the chance to press their rivals, placing Nunez on the cover of the match program.

Nunez, despite making his first start against Bristol City, remained on the bench this time, although he came on for 15 minutes, prompting loud boos from 2000 hostile fans.

Nunez was unafraid to taunt his former fans.

And he wasn't shy about celebrating the historic win.

Fans in the stands were alarmed when Kipre almost lost the ball under the pressure from Ante Kranak on the edge of the penalty area.

Sam Szmodics wasted a chance when he broke down the right flank, but his cross was too high for Philogene.

Norwich midfielder Oscar Schwartau received a yellow card from referee Thomas Kirk for attempting to block Darnell Furlong.

Ipswich thought they had scored when Philogene took a shot, but Kirk disallowed the goal for a foul by George Hirst on Harry Darling.

On the other side of the field, Schwartau’s shot from the corner was saved by goalkeeper Alex Palmer.

Sindre Valle Egeli had a good spot for a cross, but Hirst failed to make a dangerous header.

Ipswich took the lead as the ball fell to Kipre after a corner, who struck the net from a half-volley into the top corner.

Former Tottenham player Jack Clarke scored the decisive goal.

The ball reached Schwartau at the edge of the area, who scored after a deflection.

In a heated finish to the second half, Ipswich regained the lead. Philogene, taking the ball from 30 yards, found no partners and powerfully fired into the net.

After the break, Ipswich had a great chance to double their lead when Hirst received the ball in the area from Szmodics, but his shot was too soft.

Next, Hirst aimed at the goal from the left flank, but instead of shooting, attempted a pass which proved unsuccessful.

Philogene tried again, but his shot went over the crossbar.

Manager McKenna made a lengthy substitution 15 minutes before the end.

Nunez, Clarke, and Ivan Azon came onto the pitch, and within seconds, all three managed to bring the Tractor Boys to a 3-1 scoreline.

Azon received a pass from Nunez from the left flank, but his attempt to score hit the right post; Clarke was on hand to finish.

Kovacevic struck again, stopping a shot from Chuba Akpom at the end of the match.
