Major Upgrade Underway at Chernihivska Metro Junction

According to Novyny.live: On Kyiv’s Left Bank, a large-scale reconstruction of the transport hub near the Chernihivska metro station is in progress. As part of this initiative, a bridge built in 1967—declared structurally unsafe—is being dismantled. Over years of use, its reinforcement and concrete suffered extensive corrosion, rendering it hazardous for traffic.

New Bridge and Expanded Infrastructure

The project involves constructing a new eight-lane bridge to upgrade the area’s transportation network. The total cost is estimated at roughly one billion hryvnias. Completion and the resumption of traffic are scheduled for the end of the year, a move expected to ease congestion and improve mobility across the city.

The future setup near Chernihivska station will include not only the new bridge but also modernized tram tracks, cycling lanes, and a barrier-free pedestrian environment. These enhancements aim to boost accessibility and comfort for both residents and visitors to the capital.

Reconstructing the transport hub around Chernihivska metro station represents a key milestone in modernizing Kyiv’s infrastructure.

Given the rising demand for efficient transit, the new bridge and upgraded facilities could significantly enhance the quality of life for the neighborhood. Completing the project by year’s end may also serve as a catalyst for business growth and tourism in the capital.
