China has created a record-breaking floating wind turbine: how it will change energy.
The new turbine can withstand waves over 24 meters high and typhoons with wind speeds exceeding 64 knots. It will soon be tested off the coast of Yangjiang.
Chinese scientists and engineers have presented a new prototype of a floating wind power station capable of generating record amounts of electricity. This project is the result of collaboration between China Huaneng Group and Dongfang Electric Corporation, and it could open up new opportunities for the use of renewable energy sources. This wind power station can fully supply over 6300 households with electricity, which is an impressive figure. The main advantage of placing turbines in open sea is the increased wind load, leading to greater productivity and lower energy losses.
The Chinese floating wind power station is a remarkable example of engineering courage and technological innovation. Its technical specifications allow for stable electricity generation in conditions of high waves and intense storms. This project could become a benchmark for the future development of wind energy both in China and around the world.
