Fishing from a Boat in September 2025: New Registration Rules and Fines.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, fishing from a boat in the autumn season of 2025 is permitted, but with certain restrictions that anglers should be aware of.
Fishing Restrictions
Prohibitions and Restrictions
The main rule pertains to the fish spawning period, during which a general prohibition on catching fish is in effect, including fishing from boats. The duration of the spawning period varies depending on the body of water and the region, so experts recommend checking current information in the orders of the State Agency of Fisheries, which are published one month before the restrictions are implemented.
Fishing is also prohibited in protected and conservation areas. In some regions, such as near Odesa, motorboats are required to stay at least 2 km away from the shoreline to preserve the ecosystem.
Boat Registration
Beginning in 2025, all boats longer than 2.5 meters must be registered. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in a fine of up to 1000 UAH.
Necessary Documents
When fishing from a boat, anglers are required to have the following documents with them:
- boat registration certificate (for vessels longer than 2.5 m, fine for absence – starting from 500 UAH);
- boatmaster's license (for motor boats with an engine over 10 hp, fine – starting from 300 UAH);
- fishing permit in paid or special zones (fine – starting from 340 UAH).
Experts also remind that for safety on the water, having life jackets is mandatory.
Fishing in September 2025
September is traditionally a favorable month for catching predatory fish, particularly pike. To ensure successful fishing, specialists recommend paying attention to the fishing calendar, which takes into account not only the season but also lunar phases.
The choice of bait is also important: during this period, live bait, plant hooks, and even regular bread work particularly well.
Earlier, Ukrainians were warned about new rules during fishing.
Thus, fishing in Ukraine, particularly from boats, has its conditions and rules that must be followed. Prohibitions during the spawning period, boat registration, and the possession of necessary documents are key points for anglers. In September 2025, catching predatory fish can be particularly successful, but it is important to adhere to all established norms to avoid fines and preserve the ecosystem.
