Sadly, the former two-time world champion was found dead in his home this morning.
Ricky announced his return to boxing when Oasis decided to reunite for their first concert in 16 years in Cardiff. He was always close to the Gallagher brothers, and all three supported Manchester City. They were the ones who brought him to the ring during the fight in 2008 against Paulie Malignaggi.
Inspired by their successes, Ricky decided to delight boxing fans around the world with his return to the sport.
Return Inspiration
In a moving interview with SunSport, he emphasized that his return to the sport became possible after getting back in shape three years ago.
Ricky said: 'It inspired a lot of people, you know, that I got back in shape at my age. It was nice when a lot of people approached me and said: 'Oh, I always had problems with my weight, and seeing you in shape at your age is inspiring.'
Despite his optimism about the fight, he noted that he does not plan to raise the level of opponents or participate in major competitions.
He said: 'This is not a fight with Manny Pacquiao when I'm going for the world champion title. I'm definitely not going to fight like Mike Tyson at 60.'

Ricky emphasized that he wants to please his fans after so many years of love and support.
He said: 'It makes me feel proud that I was so loved, and that it matters to people when they hear about my comeback. But I'm not as silly as I look. I know which fights are right for me and which are not.'

Ricky announced his comeback back in 2011, but after the fight with Vyacheslav Senchenko in 2012, he retired again. Thirteen years later, he brought joy to boxing fans once again, with a fight against Eisa Alda scheduled for December 2 in Dubai.
His opponent is 46-year-old Alda, who is the first professional boxer in the Persian Gulf.
